pillion My primary motivation for making art is a desire to produce images that invite expansion of perception in the mind of viewers. I am intrigued by all human interactions to the exponentially increasing stream of information, significant or otherwise, that has sparked, sustained, burdened, or entertained the mind of humans through time. I feel that the content of my art derives its meaning from how my feelings and humanity are expressed dealing responsibly with this information in the creation of art works.

For the past fourty years Jack Hernon has energized dual careers as a professional color specialist and as a fine artist. He has an MFA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, nine years as an art educator, thirty-five years of exhibiting works in galleries with public collections in North Carolina, Oklahoma and New York. He is also represented in private collections throughout the US, France, South America, and the US Virgin Islands. He works mostly in acrylic and mixed media.
