My paintings are personal reactions or interpretations of particular environments which may be a landscape,atmosphere, a memory or an experience. My style is very intuitive and the energy of my brushstroke has a lot to do with the way I am feeling or the expression I am trying to convey. I prefer to have the painting guide me. Sometimes this leads me in a direction foreign to where I was headed initially.

Bente uses expressions of color and passionate brushstrokes to create her intuitive paintings. They may start from sketches or paintings done on location or they may be from a particular memory.
