My work questions the role of the hand painted gesture in abstract painting. Simultaneously cynical and sincere about the role of painting in society, I cull marks from many histories in abstract painting. The fractured condition of the images portrays the fast influx of stimulus that everyone is subject to today.

Adrian Negenborn has studied at Skidmore College, Studio Art Centers International Florence, and Massachusetts College of Art. He has exhibited in Cleveland, OH; Glens Falls, NY; Saratoga Springs, NY; and Boston, MA. He also was nominated for the Dedalus Foundation Grant in 2009.
